Prom Night slashes into the US box office

It was a good weekend for slashers and dodgy cops as new arrivals Prom Night and Street Kings both did decent business at the US box office.

Prom Night’s remake of the 1980 Jamie Lee Curtis starrer targeted the teens and took in $23 million, while the Keanu Reeves cop drama nabbed $12 million. The new films pushed 21 down to third place, with the Vegas gambling pic adding $11 million to its $62.2 million total so far.
