Black Friday Nintendo Switch 2 deals may have officially closed out, but I'm still seeing a number of discounts live on the shelves. Games and accessories are still holding firm this weekend, with some even taking smaller additional discounts (like the Belkin Carrying Case).

I've had a Nintendo Switch 2 under my wing since launch, and since then I've been busy spending far too much on the eShop and testing the latest and greatest accessories. I've also been deal hunting for over six years, starting off tracking the lowest prices on all manner of gaming gadgets over on our sister site TechRadar, before diving into hands-on testing at GamesRadar+.

Will the Nintendo Switch 2 be on sale during Black Friday?

The console itself? It's incredibly unlikely that the Nintendo Switch 2 will see serious discounts in the US over Black Friday, however the UK is already seeing a number of cash-saving bundles and even straight price cuts on the handheld live. Nintendo hardware holds its value for a long time, and this is a recent release. It took years for previous devices to shed their MSRPs in the states and even today it's difficult to find an OLED model on sale.

However, Black Friday Nintendo Switch 2 deals will likely land on games and accessories a little better. Cases, controllers, headsets, and memory cards are the order of the day this year, with third party games seeing some record-low prices as well.

Woot is all about the OG Switch game deals this Black Friday

Amazon's Woot has unloaded a ton of savings on older Nintendo Switch games. That's great news if you happened to miss any last-generation games, especially as the Nintendo Switch 2 can play them all without issue. In fact, for some of these, you're gonna have a better time playing them on the new Ninty handheld than you would on the original, as they have free upgrades, which includes everything from HDR support to improve frame rates and visuals.

Holy Triforce - Walmart has sold 96% of its Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom stock

Image of Echoes of Wisdom running on the Tears of the Kingdom OLED Nintendo Switch.

While browsing through Walmart's Switch game deals today, I just discovered that the retailer has apparently sold 96% of its remaining copies of the Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom for the Nintendo Switch.

Right now, if you pop onto its product page, you'll find that text that reads "96% of this deal is gone" and I'm not surprised. Spending just $30 for such a lovely Zelda title is a bargain, especially as it marks Princess Zelda's first ever solo adventure. (We don't talk about the CD-i games.)

If you're a big Zelda fan but gave this a miss last generation, I highly recommend you give it a go while Walmart still has 4% of its deal stock remaining. It's a gorgeous game, and it even sees a return of some classic Zelda character designs, like the adorable deku scrubs. Plus, it'll run even better on your Switch 2 as it has a free update available for the new handheld to improve performance and visuals.

Switch 2 Joy-Con are sold out at Woot, but all is not lost

I wish the Nintendo Switch Online controllers were discounted, but at least they're in stock

There are a lot of Black Friday retro gaming deals going around today, and a lot of record-low savings on retro-style controllers, too. Begrudingly, some of my favorite controllers to use with the Switch 2 are not included in this year's sales, but they are still in stock (for the most part).

I'm talking about the official Nintendo Switch Online gamepads that you can only pick up via the Nintendo store, which are designed to match that real-deal as closely as possible. I use the official GameCube controller almost every day with the Switch 2. It works really well instead of the Pro controller, and feels just the same as my official pads of that era, minus that horrible and limiting wire spewing out the top.

It's an incredible and authentic piece of kit, but it's still full price right now. At least, it's in stock at all, as I can't say the same for the SNES model. If you're after some authenticity when it comes to playing through your NSO games, or want to kid an old-school Ninty fan for the holidays, I've gathered all the official pads down below.

You can tell who's in charge of the live blog when amiibos are the topic of choice. (Here's a hint: it's Rosalie.)

But honestly, it's hard not to blabber on about them when the Tears of the Kingdom figures are just $9.99 still at Best Buy. They originally launched for $29.99 just a few months ago, so that's an incredible bargain. You can now basically grab three for the same price it was to grab one - and I mean, if you're a Zelda fan, you should definitely consider doing that.

Trust me, you could always do with an extra pair of Switch 2 Joy-Cons

Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con in front of handheld running Donkey Kong Bananza

I've said it a lot this week, but I'm not gonna stop - having an extra pair of Switch 2 Joy-Con controllers is super handy. Not only does it mean you then have up to four controllers for playing the likes of Mario Kart World or Super Mario Party Jamboree with your pals, but it means you have spares in case the worst were to happen.

Woot understands this, and they've dropped $100 off the new official Switch 2 controllers, making this handy expensive more accessible than ever. I'd be grabbing this deal right this very second if I hadn't already asked Santa for a set for the holidays.

I hope the Switch Super Mario Galaxy Collection is always this easy to find in stock

Close up of the front of the Super Mario Galaxy + Galaxy 2 Switch box, with a replica of Rosalina's crown and wand in the background.

When Nintendo first announced the Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 collection for the Switch and Switch 2, I was so worried that it would be a limited drop like Super Mario 3D All-Stars.

Physical copies of All Stars occasionally go for extortionate amounts of cash online, which makes it feel like more of a collector's item than a collection of games people can buy to actually play and enjoy. Fortunately, this new set of two classic Wii games is still in stock pretty much everywhere for its MSRP, including at Best Buy where it's even $6.49 less than full price. That means you can play and enjoy these incredible Galaxy adventures, without spending more than you should.

Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 | $69.99 $63.50 at Best Buy

The Switch 2 Pokemon Legends Z-A bundle is sold out, but you should buy this instead

Pokemon Legends Z-A

There are only two official Switch 2 bundles out in the wild, the Mario Kart World bundle and the Pokemon Legends Z-A bundle. However, the latter is extremely hard to find in stock. If it is in stock, you're likely to see it with an inflated cost. For example, you could pick it up for $629 at Walmart, but it was far cheaper at launch.

Just like the Mario Kart World bundle, it had an MSRP of $499, so you'd be spending $130 more here. Instead, I recommend just grabbing the standalone Switch 2 and a copy of Pokemon Legends Z-A separately, which would cost $518 altogether. Sure, you won't get that funky box with the Pokemon art all over it, but the Switch 2 looks entirely the same once you get that cardboard opened. That extra cost isn't worth it.

The first Switch 2 case I ever tested is part of this year's Black Friday deals

Photo by Rosalie Newcombe of the STEALTH Premium Travel Case for Switch 2.

I've tested a lot of Switch 2 cases now that the handheld is more than a few months old, but this 4Gamers Premium Travel Case was the first I got to try out.

It's a plain all-black case, so its design didn't have that 'wow' factor, but I was impressed with it nonetheless. The case is simple, but sometimes that's exactly what you need. In this case (heh, get it), simple means providing storage for up to 12 physical game carts, and a fabric mesh pocket for smaller accessories. Its interior is coated in this plush fabric too, which helps keep the pricey handheld nice and soft thanks to its soft and light fibres.

Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle stock is still going strong

I'm so glad that stock of the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Bundle is still going strong, even now that the actual Black Friday day is upon us.

I didn't expect it to sell out, as stock has been fine for a while now. However, it's nice to think that no one should have issues grabbing one today for the holidays. Y'know, besides the issue of affording an almost $500 console.

I can't wait to steal my in-laws stars in Super Mario Party Jamboree during the holidays

Photo by Rosalie Newcombe of Super Mario Party Jamboree Switch 2 Edition running on the Switch 2 with the Good Smile Company Mario Nendoroid figure standing off to the right hand side of the screen.

I love a bit of Mario Party, and every time I bring the Switch 2 over to the in-laws, you can bet my copy of Super Mario Party Jamboree is with me.

Mario Kart World is fun and all, but the luck involved with Super Mario Party Jamboree means everyone prefers to sit down and have a game. The brand-new mouse-controlled mini-games and Switch 2 camera game modes have just made it more of a joy to play than ever, and it's currently 99 cents off at Woot today.

That's a pretty nothing saving, but the Switch 2 version can be hard to find in stock at other retailers. With that in mind, it's worth grabbing if you're hoping for some Mario Party-fueled family rivalry over the holidays.

I'm obsessed with the retro 90s look of this Switch 2 headset

As a '90s kid, I can't help but rejoice every time I see any modern tech with a translucent plastic chassis, and that's why I adore this retro take on the Turtle Beach Airlite Fit wired gaming headset.

This headset is the same one that sits proudly on our best Nintendo Switch headset list, but it has been kitted out in a stunning translucent purple form factor that pays a lovely homage to the Atomic Purple Game Boy Color of yesteryear. If you want a gift idea for a fellow '90s kid, or just want to grab a funky headset for the little Nintendo fan in your life, this version of the Airlite Fit will surely go down a treat over the holidays.

You're in for a wonderful co-op time with this Super Mario Wonder deal

When Super Mario Wonder was originally released, I played through it with my fiancée and had an incredible time. Being able to share my love of the Super Mario series with my partner is always a blast, but the game's constant push to surprise us with new and unique power-ups made it one of the most memorable co-op experiences I've had in my 35 years of gaming.

If you're looking for a cozy, co-op adventure, you can grab it right now for $47.99 at Woot, a saving of $22 off its full price. Plus, like most older Switch games, it's naturally compatible on your Switch 2. (Otherwise I wouldn't bother to mention to amongst the rest of today's Switch 2 deals.)

I love that the entire Luigi's Mansion trilogy is playable on Switch 2

As a Nintendo and horror game fan, I love me some Luigi's Mansion. The games aren't Silent Hill levels of scary, but they're still super atmospheric and an absolute joy to play. With the release of the Nintendo Switch Online GameCube library, the first game in the series is playable on the Switch 2, which means the entire trilogy is now too.

If you haven't yet experienced these wonderful spooky games with Luigi at the helm, you owe yourself you grab them right now, especially now that the Black Friday Switch game deals have arrived. With all the Black Friday news going about, you might have forgotten that Metroid Prime 4 Beyond releases next week. The highly anticipated follow-up to the Prime series is blasting on the Switch 2 (and original Switch) on December 4, which is just less than a week away.

While it's only a few days until release, you still have plenty of time to pre-order it for the Switch 2. Sadly, there are no deals on the pre-order price, but if you pick it up from Amazon, you can take advantage of their pre-order price guarantee and its speedy Prime delivery.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership

If you're a big fan of the iconic Mario and Luigi RPG series but missed out on their last turn-based RPG outing, then do I have good news for you. Mario and Luigi Brothership is currently part of Woot's gaming deals, with a whole $20 off its full price of $59.99.

Over the year, it's gotten harder to find this game in stock at all at other US retailers, which makes this deal extra special. And remember, like all the Switch game deals I'll be talking about today, it's playable on the Switch 2!

This Switch 2 case has never been cheaper and has one of my favorite unique features

Photo by Rosalie Newcombe of the inside mesh pocket of the Belkin Carrying Case for the Nintendo Switch 2.

I talk about the Belkin Carrying Case for the Nintendo Switch 2 a lot, but for good reason. It's one of the best Switch 2 cases I've tested (and reviewed) so far, as it's slim and compact enough to fit in my many backpacks, and it provides game and accessories storage to make gaming on the go a far better experience.

One of my favorite features of the case is that it has a hidden Apple AirTag pocket. That means, so long as you have one to spare, you can keep an extra eye on the case while travelling. For how price the Switch 2 is, I love that added bit of reassurance. I mean, something can still take your Switch 2, but at least you'll have a helping hand to track it (and this fabulous case) down.

This 1TB Switch 2 SD card just got another price cut

If you're after 1TB of space for your Switch 2, you're in luck. This week, the 1TB capacity microSD Express card from Lexar dropped just below the $200 price mark, but now it's even cheaper at just $185.99 at Amazon today.

I say "just" when that's still a lot to pay for some storage. However, you are pretty limited when it comes to finding a Switch 2 card with 1TB worth of space. If you don't mind the cost, there's still plenty of stock left for this high-capacity card, and grabbing it is a great way to futureproof your new shiny, Ninty handheld.

Woot has 99 cents off Donkey Kong Bananza, which is better than nothing I guess

Donkey Kong hurling a boulder angrily on a blue background

On the lead up to this week's savings, Amazon's Woot dropped around $10 off a ton of big releases, including the likes of Mario Kart World and Donkey Kong Bananza.

As you can imagine, the stock sold out fast, but Donkey Kong Bananza has returned at Woot now, just with 99 cents off instead. In the grand scheme of things, that's pretty much a nothing saving. But hey, if you want 99 cents off the game, I'm not gonna stop you.

I hang my head in shame to report that I've only just seen the huge Video Game Megasale over at Woot, and truth be told, these are some of the best Black Friday Switch 2 deals I've seen so far.

The PowerA Metroid Prime crossbody bag was made for for OG models, but they just might fit your newer console too if you check the dimensions. And this is the first discount I've seen on the Switch 2 Joy-Cons I've spent so much of today bemoaning. At $10 off the RRP currently listed on Amazon, you really can't fault seeing a deal like this so early in the Switch 2's lifespan.

A Black Friday Switch 2 pro controller deal to get your spidey senses tingling

The GameSir Tarantula Pro on its charging stand

(Image credit: Future / Duncan Robertson)

Amazon has one of the best Switch 2 controllers locked down with this sweet record-low offer I just found on the GameSir Tarantula Pro. The best part about it, aside from the 20% discount, is that this particular controller is cross-compatible with many other consoles, including the PS5 Pro.

As mentioned in our expert Hardware Editor's review up top, it's "one of the best and most versatile controllers on the shelves at the moment." That makes the Tarantula Pro pretty much the definitive Black Friday Switch 2 deal if you're looking for something that looks great, feels even better, and works with all your consoles. Rare find: refurbished OLED Switch deal for Black Friday

Hands holding Nintendo Switch OLED and playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

I was mourning how a refurbed Switch Lite had gone back up in price a few hours ago, but a new Black Friday Switch OLED deal has just made that one obsolete anyway.

Now rocking a 22% discount, this excellent condition renewed Switch OLED looks like the ultimate bargain pick for anyone looking to upgrade from the classic model this Black Friday. If you're dead set on a bargain this year despite desperately wanting the Switch 2, it's looking like you don't have many other options other than buying this or waiting until a future sale in the New Year.

I'll leave it up to you to check out the two refurbed models I've found on Amazon below, one classic and one OLED version:

Nintendo Switch white OLED (renewed) | $359.99 $278.95 at Amazon

Nintendo Switch neon blue/red (renewed) | $334.99 $224.99 at Amazon

It's thumb-azing

Good, my awful pun got your attention. Remember how I was moaning about the Switch 2 Joy-Con's lack of beautifying accessories a moment ago? I have just the things to dress them up properly: some discounted thumb grips I found on Amazon.

Speaking from personal experience, nothing says Joy-Con makeover like a snazzy new set of thumb grip. They're cheap enough normally, but I'm seeing some sweet discounts knocking the price tags down by a few bucks a pop to net you some very decent Black Friday Switch 2 deals over all. Especially if, like me, you get kind of bored with your setup once in a while and need something striking to get you re-invested.

Remember, these offers are for the Switch 2 only, and might not be compatible with your original version of the console. Make sure to check the right boxes before you buy, as a lot of them do have OG versions! Check 'em out:

Accessories are where it's at when I look at this year's best Black Friday Nintendo Switch 2 deals, and the Logitech G522 Lightspeed gaming headset is a prime example of why.

Now going for a new record-low discount of $40 off over at Best Buy, it's an excellent pick for a new-to-market wireless headset that just came out this summer. Our Hardware Editor Rosalie gushes over G522 Lightspeeds in her review above, commenting on the "broadcast quality" mic and impressive 90-hour battery life. It's an excellent pick for your Switch 2 needs, but like most headphones, you can use them with a range of devices. See for yourself:

Pastel perfect

Calling all owners of the original Nintendo Switch: my favorite Joy-Cons have never been cheaper, and I'm already jealous of anyone who's getting them at this new record-low price.

This is a classic Black Friday Switch deal: the pastel Joy-Cons in purple and green, now at an all-time low sales price at 20% off. I remember when this deal popped up last Black Friday at only a few dollars off RRP, so to see it drop by nearly $20 is what I call a personal victory. No doubt buoyed by the launch of the Switch 2 and the subsequent lower demand for original models, it's an amazing time to grab the prettiest set of Joy-Cons for a total bargain.

Not only are they simply perfection to look at mounted on a charging dock, I'd almost forgotten how soft and smooth a brand new controller can feel when it hasn't had my slippery paws all over it for years. Get 'em while they're hot:

I did not expect to see the newest Sonic game getting a discount just two months since it released, but Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds just sped to the top spot on my list of the best Black Friday Switch game deals I've seen all day.

The blue hedghog's latest is now on sale at Amazon for 33% off RRP, marking a new record low for what our Sonic die-hard Games Editor deems "a slick, ambitious racer" that's "compulsively playable" in his Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds review. I know the guy and trust me, he's one of the most discerning and passionate Sonic fans out there, so you'll want to grab this Amazon-exclusive steal before Black Friday vanishes for another year.

We're around the half way mark now for Black Friday Switch deals, and I gotta say that while things are still pretty steady and slow-moving on the console end, I'm impressed with the amount of offers I've seen on the best Switch 2 games.

Refurbished rumble

Say it ain't so! That renewed Switch Lite I spotted a couple of hours ago has just ticked up in price, now only about $40 below RRP after starting 20 bucks under that.

It's a bit of a bummer, as I'm not seeing any Black Friday Switch 2 deals (and nothing for a new Switch 1 either) right now, but luckily there is one other refurbed model I wanted to point out.

It's the classic blue and red Nintendo Switch model, now going for more than $100 off its original price tag on Amazon. Yes, I know it's not the Switch 2, but if you're starving for a handheld fix and simply cannot wait (or if you're not that fussed on the bells and whistles of Nintendo's latest), it's actually an amazing Black Friday Switch deal for an item rated "excellent" in terms of condition.

Here's both offers for you to consider, but you may want to move fast in case the price goes up yet again:

My lovely colleague mentioned yesterday how awesome Amiibos are for stocking fillers, and all these Black Friday Switch 2 deals at Best Buy make them all the more enticing.

Loads of iconic characters from the best Zelda games are going for cheap right now at the retailer, with familiar faces from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom leading the charge at less than $10 a pop. As the proud owner of two Zelda Amiibos, the urge to scratch my collector's itch is strong. Beat me to it, if you dare.

Jsaux power bank with ports and orange cable in review

It's almost embarrassing how hyped I am by this particular Black Friday Switch 2 deal, but at $11 off, the best portable charger for Nintendo's latest handheld is a serious steal.

The Jsaux 20000mAh 65w power bank is as sleek, powerful, and fast as it gets, with our retro and handheld hardware guru Phil writing about the "subtle sprinkles of integration that make it a great handheld fit." It's also compatible with your phone, your Steam Deck OLED, or really anything that can be charged via USB-C, making it an excellent all-rounder portable charger.

Who says your new Switch needs to be brand new? I've just spotted this gorgeous renewed indigo blue Nintendo Switch Lite going for an absolute steal on Amazon this Black Friday, a full $17 less than the lowest ever sales price of the brand new console.

It's the perfect Black Friday Switch deal for those on a smaller budget, especially if you're looking to gift it to someone who values portability and snazzy colors above having the latest tech. I adored my Switch Lite and sometimes regret trading up to the classic version, truth be told, and since there's only one of these in stock, I'd scoop it up quick.

One thing about me is that I am always breaking my headphones or losing my wireless earbuds, but there's one brand that has never let me down on either account.

The Steel Series Arctis range is seeing some excellent discounts in the post-Thanksgiving sales season, making them some of my top recommendations for a Black Friday Switch 2 deal-hunter searching for a beautiful way to get lost in the game. The SteelSeries Arctis game buds are just $20 above their lowest ever sales price on Amazon right now, while the older SteelSeries Arctis Nova 1 is just dollars off its own record-low.

It's also the best budget Switch 2 Black Friday headphones option if you want to stay on the safe side and not splash too much cash, lest ye too break them too early. Thankfully, the sturdy build should make that hard task even for the accident-prone. Check both out here:

Just found a sneaky price drop on one of the snazziest Black Friday Switch 2 deals on my roster! PowerA Advantage controllers are seeing some great discounts right now. Our Managing Hardware Editor already spotted that the white lumectra (aka, flashy light version) is going for up to 40% off right now, but fans of the best Mario games should definitely take advantage of the 28% discount on the Mario Time variant.

The gorgeous PowerA Advantage controller is compatible with both Switch generations, which is great news for anyone who's yet to upgrade. Most of them come in wired or wireless versions, so do be sure to take that into consideration before you hit "buy now".

You'll want to check out the full range of colors via Amazon (personally, the pastel-toned version featuring Princess Peach is calling to me) since they're all going for slightly different prices. The lumectra is a dollar more expensive, but works out to more of a percentage on savings, while Mario Time looks like the cheapest overall Switch 2 controller deal this Black Friday. I'll drop the links here for you peep:

Good morning from the UK, shoppers! We're kicking off with some residual Black Friday Switch 2 deals still hanging on from Thanksgiving, so I hope you're not too full of turkey to take a peek.

Here, you'll find some of the best Switch 2 games new to the market this year, as well as a console and game bundle if you're yet to pick a new handheld up. It might not be on sale, but you'd still be making an overall saving than if you purchased the game and the console separately.

The US is the place to be for Switch 2 amiibo savings

I've mentioned the incredible amiibo deals available at retailers like Best Buy a lot today, but I want to again for anyone who missed it earlier. You can grab the latest wave of Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom amiibo figures for just $9.99 today, which is a huge $20 off saving off their typical $29.99 prices.

That means you can buy three figures for the cost of just one at launch, which is utterly astounding if you ask me. Begrudgingly, these incredible deal prices are only available in the US, and they're still full price in the UK. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the amiibo savings will make their way across the pond soon.

Whenever I'm not using a headset with the Switch 2, you can bet I've got the SteelSeries Arctis Game Buds in my ears instead. Over the months, I've started to actually prefer using these when it comes to gaming on the go, as they're much more compact and so take up far less room in my backpack.

Plus, they're equipped with active noise-cancellation, which makes it easier to zone out any unwanted sounds and focus on leveling up in Pokemon Legends Z-A, which I'm forever a fan of. They can be pretty expensive, though, but they are down to $149.99 this Black Friday, which helps things. Today's price isn't a record low, but anything below the $150 price mark is a deal worth grabbing.

The 8BitDo Ultimate 2 wireless controller is my go-to Switch 2 pad, and it's less than $50 today

I don't feel any need to go grab a Switch 2 Pro controller now that I have the 8BitDo Ultimate Wireless 2 at my disposal. Sure, it's missing the NFC-reading tech, so it can't read any of the data from my amiibos. It's not as easy to pair as the official premium pad, but it is cheaper, especially this Black Friday.

There's no deal to be found with the Switch 2 Pro controller, but the 8BitDo Ultimate Wireless 2 is down to just $47.98 this week, a saving of $12 off its full $59.99 MSRP. This controller is also equipped with stick drift-eliminating TMR sticks, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz wireless connectivity (via a 2.4GHz wireless dongle), customizable RGB lighting, and a 1000Hz polling rate, among many more features. Not to mention that you can grab it in a range of colors besides the black and gray of the official Switch 2 pad.

On November 30, Nintendo is dropping $20 off the official Samsung microSD Express card, which should mean you can grab 256GB worth of extra storage for around $39.99. If you can't wait until Sunday, you can instead pick up the 256GB SanDisk microSD Express Card today at Amazon.

It's currently $8 off, taking its $67.99 MSRP down to $59.99. Its current discounted price is just the same as the MSRP of the official Switch 2 SD card, which isn't ideal. But here's the thing: the official card can be difficult to find in stock, making this an ideal alternative.

Talking of Switch 2 accessories that drive up the fun in Mario Kart World, these 4Gamers Twin Racing Wheel controllers are also down to a record-low price this Black Friday.

I'm just happy to see these back in stock, as ever since I first rambled on about how much I loved these well-built Joy-Con accessories, they've been a challenge to find. What's great about this deal in particular is that they're even cheaper than the official versions from Nintendo, but are not low in quality.

The 4Gamers Twin Controller Grips were some of the first third-party Switch 2 accessories I tested, and they're some of my favorites too.

These little plastic add-ons let you pop in your Joy-Con controllers and transform the flatbacks and awkward-to-press side buttons into ergonomically shaped handles with large, easy-to-press shoulder buttons. If you hate the sensation of playing co-op games with a single Joy-Con, these low-cost accessories make it a whole lot more manageable, and they're $2 off today at Best Buy thanks to Black Friday.

Need Nintendo Switch 2 stocking present ideas? Amiibo are the way the go

Photo of the top of the amiibo end display stand flagpole, with a pink background.

I'm a strong believer that amiibo make for some of the best gifts. Not only are they high-quality figures and merchandise based on iconic Nintendo characters, but they also unlock in-game content, which still blows me away even now that I'm over 150+ amiibo deep.

The only issue is, they can be pretty pricey, especially has they weren't spared from Nintendo's recent wave of price increases. However, right now, Best Buy has dropped the prices of the Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom amiibo to just $9.99 each, and that, my friends, makes them perfect for gifting this year.

Get prepared for the upcoming movie with this little Super Mario Galaxy game deal

I just recently finished yet another playthrough of the first Super Mario Galaxy game that's in this collection on the Switch 2, and I loved every moment. I'm now multiple hours into the sequel, and while I don't personally enjoy it as much as the first game, I'm glad I have the opportunity to play it now that its' broken free of its Wii-shaped prison.

If the Galaxy games have passed you by but you have a Switch 2, you can grab this collection of both games for $64.99 at Walmart today, saving you $4 off its full $69.99 price. I know that saving is absolutely tiny, but this collection is still pretty new, so it'll be a while until we see a price drop of cosmic proportions.

This Switch 2 case is worth grabbing even at full price this Black Friday

I know I'm meant to be delivering you all the best discounts this Black Friday, but I fully believe this PlayTrek Mario Bricks Switch 2 case is a bargain, even at its full $29.99 price tag.

This case features all the same storage as the best Switch 2 case I've tested, which includes space to store up to 12 physical game cards, and a fabric mesh pocket for smaller accessories. But what's most striking about this case in particular is its unique lenticular design. Depending on the angle you look at the case from, you can see some hidden Mario art reveal itself, and it looks utterly fantastic amongst the sea of boring, plain ol' cases that are on the market today.

My go-to Switch 2 wireless headset is under $90 this Black Friday

As the resident headset nerd of the team, I've tested a lot of wireless headsets for the Switch 2. Out of the lot, the SteelSeries Arctis Nova 3X Wireless is my favorite, and the white model is down to a record-low price of $89.99 at Amazon today.

This lightweight headset is equipped with mighty 40mm Neodymium audio drivers, Bluetooth and 2.4GHz, and one of the best mics I've tested in a pair so far. Its battery is a little disappointing, but it's fortunately also equipped with fast charging, which helps make up for its lackluster playback. With fast charging, I can get up to 9 hours of juice from just a 15-minute charge, which is why it secured its place among my favorite Switch 2 accessories.

I asked Santa for an extra pair of Switch 2 Joy-Con, and you should too

Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con on a wooden desk

I so badly want an extra pair of Switch 2 Joy-Con for the holidays, and if you plan to play some games with the family or friends, you should think about investing in some of your own.

Sure, the Switch 2 is compatible with a ton of past Switch controllers, which you might own. However, if you're planning on playing through games like Super Mario Party Jamboree Switch 2 Edition next month and want to fully enjoy all the new mouse-controlled mini-games with friends, you'll need more than one pair to get up to 4 players in on the fun. Having an extra pair can also be handy if anyone happens to your original pads, which is why I'm pestering Santa (also known as my fiancé) for another pair.

PowerA Slim Case for Nintendo Switch 2 on a wooden desk with blue backlighting

The Switch 2 has been out for a few months now, and that means there are now plenty of cases out there for the taking, like this PowerA Slim Case.

Unlike other slim cases, it is missing an accessory pouch, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Without any accessory storage, you're less likely to cram in gadgets that could put extra force on the handheld's 7.9-inch display when the case is zipped up, saving it from any unwanted pressure and damage down the line. If that sounds good to you, you can grab this PowerA case for just $15 today thanks to Black Friday.

This Spigen Switch 2 case makes Joy-Cons super comfortable, and it's under $16 this Black Friday

I've never been a fan of the flat-backs of the Joy-Con controllers, and that's especially the case where the Switch 2 is concerned. After a while, I get a flush of pins and needles-like sensations as there's nothing comfortable for my hands to grip onto, but that's where this Spigen Rugged Armor case comes in.

By slipping your Ninty handheld in this plastic case, it adds grips to the back of the Joy-Con controllers, transforming its shape into something that more resembles the Steam Deck, and I love it. Annoyingly, you can only use this with the Joy-Con attached, but as a handheld mode fan, that doesn't bother me.

Donkey Kong Bananza has been out for a while now, but I know not everyone is a fan of more open-world DK games. If you're one of those people, you can instead grab Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, which is down to just $39.99 today thanks to Black Friday.

This game is compatible with the Switch 2 and focuses on more side-scrolling platforming, which you'll be more than accustomed to if you grew up on the original Donkey Kong Country on the SNES. Plus, like its Bananza brethren, you can hand an extra Joy-Con to a pal and have some local co-op fun too.

Want a Switch 2 for the holidays? Grab the Mario Kart World bundle

If I had to choose between grabbing the standalone Nintendo Switch 2 or the Mario Kart World bundle, it'd be the latter every time.

Sure, it pains me as a physical game collector that Mario Kart World is included as a redeemable digital game code, and there's no game box to be found. However, it's easier to cope with that fact once I remember that I'm saving $29 over buying the handheld and the game separately. Plus, now I permanently have the latest Mario Kart on my Switch 2 and don't have to get up to slot in the cart when friends come over, which is a nice bonus.

If you've had your eyes on the official Samsung microSD Express Card for the last few months, you'll be happy to know it's receiving a chunky $20 discount on November 30.

Switch 2 microSD Express cards are notoriously pricey, so it'll be great to see it drop from its $59.99 price tag once the deal goes live. Nintendo stated that you can expect to find it with its new discounted price at Nintendo San Francisco and the Nintendo New York physical stores, as well as select retailers online, once it goes live. For now, it's still full price, but I recommend bookmarking its product page and checking back in on Sunday to catch this Black Friday saving while stock lasts.

I loved testing this stunning ghost RGB wired Switch 2 controller, and it's now $20 off

I know wired Switch 2 controllers aren't everyone's cup of tea, but I genuinely adored my time with this stunning PowerA pad. Its cable was long enough that I could still comfortably sit on my sofa while playing Pokemon Legends Z-A, but it wasn't that which impressed me the most.

This controller is equipped with Ghost RGB LED Lighting, which basically means that the combination of the lighting inside the controller and the translucent white chassis creates a ghostly glowing effect. I'm a big fan of RGB lighting in my gaming tech, but this is one of my favorite implementations of it in anything Switch 2 or gaming-related so far. If you love bright and colorful controllers, your Switch 2 deserves this, especially now it's down to $29.99 at Amazon this Black Friday.

Belkin's Switch 2 screen protector is a must-buy now that it's super cheap this Black Friday

Photo by Rosalie Newcombe of the Switch 2 sitting on a pile of Switch 2 cases.

I know a screen protector is a really boring purchase for any handheld, whether it's the Switch 2 or the Steam Deck, but trust me that it can make a huge difference. I've got this Belkin TemperedGlass Screen Protector for Nintendo Switch 2 on my device right now, and it helps keep my anxiety at bay.

Before it, I noticed tiny abrasions to the 7.9-inch LCD display, and I was in a panic as my Switch 2 was so new. So I made sure to get a screen protector on it as soon as possible, as it was this one from Belkin that I picked up because it comes with an Easy Align Frame to make it easier to install. I didn't do a perfect job, as you can tell from the bottom left corner of the image above. However, this is still a must-buy if you want to keep your display in good condition.

This Switch 2 controller is a top pick from our retro expert, and it just received a rare saving

Our hardware team's resident retro expert Phil is a big fan of the Gulikit Elves Pro 2 controller, which is currently $40 off at Amazon. That's thanks in part to its premium features like its hall effect thumbsticks, a 1,000Hz polling rate, and HD haptic, but also because it's pretty travel-friendly too.

I haven't tried this out for myself, but if Phil states that it prompted them to "essentially ditch most other gamepads I used to use, including the Switch Pro controller" then it must be a wireless pad worthy of the Switch, or Nintendo Switch 2. Fortunately, I don't have to spend a lot to give it a whirl and see for myself, as it's just $39.99 this Black Friday.

You don't need to be a detective to know this No Sleep For Kaname Date saving is a good deal

Photo by Rosalie Newcombe of a close-up of the Game-Key Card of No Sleep For Kaname Date sitting on its physical Switch 2 game box.

Yes, I fully appreciate this version of No Sleep For Kaname Date on the Switch 2 is a game-key card, but hear me out. If you're a Somnium Files series fan, it's still a great game to have in your collection.

Not only is it not yet out on other platforms (like the PS5), but this edition comes with two holographic stickers in the box. If you're a Somnium Files fan like me, I know even you can't avoid the allure of two pretty collectible stickers, especially if the amazing Aiba is involved as one of the designs. Plus, there's $20 off this Switch 2 copy right now.

I've been a Nintendo fan for 35 years, and here's all the Switch 2 goodies on my wishlist

I've been playing Nintendo games for almost as long as I could walk. I wish I were making that up, but there's literally a photo of me as a baby with an NES controller in my hand. 35 years later, I'm still a big Nintendo fan, which is one of the reasons I'm here typing away to you at this very moment, and why my online shopping wishlist is full of Switch 2 goodies this year.

Today, I thought I'd share with you everything I've added to that wishlist, so you can see if there's anything you'd like to add to yours. Or, so you can see if there's anything you're eager to grab right now while the Black Friday deals are flowing.

This JSAUX Switch 2 accessory can charge all your Joy-Con controllers, and its never been cheaper

I recently reviewed the JSAUX EnergyFlow Charging Dock for the Nintendo Switch 2 and quite liked the RGB-lit up contraption, even if I couldn't use it to its fullest potential. This little device can charge up to four Switch 2 Joy-Con controllers at once, and acts as a handy stand when you don't know where to stash your extra pair.

If you only have one set of Joy-Con, I wouldn't recommend it. You can just charge your controllers by attaching them to your Ninty handhelds when it's docked. However, if you have an extra pair and want to ensure it's juiced up for some Super Mario Party action over the holidays, you can grab this charging dock for just $16.99 this Black Friday.

You can get some Zelda amiibo for as little as $10 right now

Nintendo has dropped the price of its Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom amiibo down to just $9.99 for Black Friday, and I feel like everyone needs to know.

I adore the little NFC-integrated collectibles, especially the Zelda amiibo. Until this new wave launched alongside the Switch 2, I owned every single Zelda figure in the series, but it should be straightforward to collect the three I'm missing now that they're just $9.99 this week.

If you're trying to complete your collection too, you can grab the Sidon, Riju, Tulin, and Yunobo for $9.99 at Best Buy and other US retailers. Better yet, the Street Fighter 6 amiibo are also discounted this Black Friday too.

Hey listen - Echoes of Wisdom has a free Switch 2 upgrade and it's just $40 right now

Hand holding The Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom Nintendo Switch game

If you're after some older Nintendo Switch games but want the reassurance they'll actually run better on the Switch 2, then may I direct your attention to the Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom.

This charming game features the same graphical stylings of the Links Awakening Remake, but features Princess Zelda on her first solo adventure (if you don't count the CD-i game). I absolutely adored my time with Echoes of Wisdom, but there were some noticeable performance issues. Which is why I'm happy to say that it's not just down to $39.99 at Best Buy today, but it also has a free Switch 2 upgrade, which introduces HDR support and optimized visuals for the new handheld.

This Ghost Purple Switch 2 wired headset would make a great 90s nostalgia gift

I know I talked about the Turtle Beach Airlite Fit just a few posts ago, but I want to take a moment to let you know about the fabulous Ghost Purple version.

This is a slightly older variation of the Switch (and Switch 2) headset and features a transparent purple aesthetic that pays homage to the Atomic Purple Game Boy Color of the late 90s. As a '90s kid myself, I absolutely adore its look. Nothing brings on the nostalgia more than transparent colored Nintendo tech.

If you're looking for a little stocking present over the holidays for a fellow 90s kid, this headset would go down a treat, especially if the Game Boy Color was a staple of their childhood.

This should be your first Switch 2 case, especially now its down to a new record-low price

I've had a lot of friends ask me for Switch 2 case recommendations since the new handheld launched earlier this year, and I always start by talking about the Bellkin Carrying Case.

My favorite case is actually the Belkin Charging Case for the Nintendo Switch 2, but I don't like to assume that everyone can muster up the cash to pay for its $69.99 MSRP. Instead, I recommend this carrying case model as it offers up the same compact and professional-looking exterior, and an almost identical amount of storage on the inside, just with a far cheaper price tag.

I don't dare touch my Joy-Cons without these thumb grips, and they've never been cheaper

Over the years, I've come to love thumb grips. The little controller add-ons make gaming a lot more comfortable, and that's never been truer for these JSAUX Thumb Grips for the Nintendo Switch 2.

This set comes with three different pairs of grips, each of a different height, so you can see what works best for you. Right now, the high-rise grips are sitting on my Switch 2 Joy-Con sticks, and I never want to take them off. Rolling around in Pokemon Legends Z-A is a lot easier thanks to the added rubber comfort, and better yet, this set is down to just $7.99 right now.

This great-sounding wired Switch 2 headset is less than $20 right now

Photo by Rosalie Newcombe of the Turtle Beach Airtlite Fit wired headset for the Switch 2, on a wooden coffee table.

I've tested a lot of Switch 2-compatible headsets this year, but the Turtle Beach Airlite Fit surprised me the most. It's a wired headset that's just $27.99 without any Black Friday sales going on, so I was expecting a cheap fit and cheap sound, but it's actually a pretty great-sounding pair of cups - and should be a no-brainer pick up now it's just $19.99 today (when you use the $8 off coupon at Amazon).

When I tested it out earlier this year, its little 40mm Neodymium speaker drivers made the jazz and big band stylings of the Mario Kart World soundtrack in free-roam mode sound so good, I'd often just sit and listen while not actually playing the game. If you're after a low-cost headset that isn't low quality, this Turtle Beach pair is the way to go.

Welcome to Black Friday Nintendo Switch 2 deal hunters!

Thanksgiving is well underway and the discounts are bubbling nicely. While I'm yet to see anything truly groundbreaking (that would be an actual saving on Ninty's latest handheld), there are still plenty of offers to wash that turkey down with. Third party Nintendo Switch 2 games and accessories are the main course today, with record-low prices hitting everything from Little Nightmares 3 to our favorite carrying case.
