Where to use the Silent Hill 2 Remake Chute Courtyard Key
The Chute Courtyard Key doesn't have a clear purpose until you find where to use it
The Silent Hill 2 Remake Chute Courtyard Key can be found with the flashlight while exploring Wood Side Apartments. Confusingly, you won't know what to do with it when you first get it as you won't have seen anything fitting that description yet. You actually need to move to an entirely different floor before you can find a use for it, so it might not be clear what you're meant to do. If you have found the Courtyard Key in Silent Hill 2 Remake and want to know what to do with it, then I can show you.
This is probably the next thing you'll have any trouble with after finding the Silent Hill 2 Greenish blue car which gives you the West Side Apartment key that got you here. However, where are that previous puzzle told you where to go, this doesn't really have any obvious location attached. So, let me explain.
Where to find the Chute Courtyard Key in Silent Hill 2 Remake
The Silent Hill 2 Remake Chute Courtyard Key is found in a chest of drawers after you find the flashlight and the mannequin attacks you. While the name seems detailed it isn't hugely helpful initially, as you won't have found anything called 'Chute Courtyard' (knowingly) and there's nothing marked on the map to help you.
However, this is one of those moments where it's basically a process of elimination and, eventually, you'll discover the Chute Courtyard Key opens this door on the 1F map, near the lobby in SH2:
This then opens up (surprise) the courtyard area. This will then give you access to more of the apartment building and act as hub area the further you explore. It will also be quite important later when you start to solve the Silent Hill 2 Coin Machine puzzle, as one of the coins you need eventually ends up here.
