Battlefield 6 Season 1 updates and roadmap
Battlefield 6 Season 1 has already added lots to the game including new maps, plenty of new guns, and obviously Redsec, with more on the horizon. Right now, the California Resistance event is ongoing, which means the new Eastwood map has been added to the game along with a couple of new weapons, powerful Battle Pickups, and a time-limited Battle Pass reward path. But now that Season 1 has only one update to go, we're looking ahead for details on Season 2, and our Battlefield 6 roadmap below will help you keep up to date with what's to come.
Battlefield 6 Season 1 roadmap
Season 1 kicks of Battlefield 6's run of post-launch content, starting on October 28 and running until early 2026. Rogue Ops was the first content drop of the Season, which saw the Blackwell Fields map, Strikepoint mode, and the APC Traverser vehicle get added, along with the Rail Cover and Low Powered Variable Zoom Optic attachments and three new Battlefield 6 weapons (the SOR-300C carbine, Mini Scout sniper rifle, and GGH-22 pistol).
California Resistance is currently running and will be followed by Winter Offensive in December. To be clear, all the content listed below is free for all players, but some of it will be locked behind the free tiers of the Season 1 battle pass and challenges and some is only available for a limited time.
We don't know what's coming afterwards for Battlefield 6, it looks like Season 1 will be coming to an end on January 20, 2026. Hopefully, we'll know a bit about Season 2 by then as nothing has been revealed so far – we'll be sure to update this guide as soon as possible once we know more!
Battlefield 6 update 1.1.2.0
You can read the full patch notes for update 1.1.2.0 here which arrived alongside the California Resistance updates. There are a lot of bug fixes across the entire game but the three most notable are a reversion to the Open Beta's aim assist parameters, tuning for bullet dispersion to alter weapon accuracy, and fixes and polishing for numerous gadgets for the Battlefield 6 classes.
California Resistance update, November 18
November's California Resistance update is here and includes another map, a limited-time mode, and more guns. If you're more interested in technical changes, make sure you read the latest patch notes too!
- New map – Eastwood: A map for land vehicles and helicopters that takes place in the affluent suburb of Eastwood in southern California and is compatible in some form for all official modes. Expect big houses to crash through, open roads, and sports facilities, including a golf course, to battle over. It even features drivable golf carts!
- New limited-time mode – Sabotage: In this 8v8 mode, each team gets one chance to attack and one to defend, with the attackers aiming to detonate as many sites as they can before the round timer ends.
- New Battle Pickups feature: Many previous Battlefield games had these and they're essentially secret, high-tech weapons with limited ammo hidden on maps that you can find and use against the enemy team. How many there will be and where they'll be is a mystery for now and they'll only be available in specific experiences and Portal.
- New Rodeo Gauntlet round: Teams must fight over and battle each other in vehicles, earning extra points for kills while in a vehicle.
- California Resistance limited-time Battle Pass bonus path: 11 extra rewards, most of which are cosmetics and free to all players, but only available until December 9 when Winter Offensive starts.
- New guns and attachments:
- DB-12 Shotgun: A double-barrel, pump-action shotgun that can fire both barrels before it needs to be rechambered, and it can fire traditional shells or slugs. Unlocked at the end of the California Resistance bonus Battle Pass path, but we're not sure what will happen to this gun if you don't earn it before the path expires.
- M327 Trait Sidearm: A high-damage, eight-round revolver with a slow fire rate and considerable damage drop-off. Unlocked through the Season 1 Hardware 3 challenge.
- Slim Handstop attachment: An underbarrel grip attachment that offers a bit more variety for this category. Unlocked via a challenge. Unlocked through the Season 1 Hardware 4 challenge.
Winter Offensive update, December 9
Winter Offensive is the final, December content update for Season 1 of Battlefield 6. It's the smallest update and mainly focused around a limited-time event that chills the Empire State Battlefield 6 map:
Weekly digests, tales from the communities you love, and more
- Ice Lock Empire State Map update: This is a visual update for the Empire State map, covering the streets of Brooklyn in snow and ice.
- Ice Lock Limited-time event: Introduces a 'Freeze' is gameplayer modifier, but nothing about this has been explained yet.
- New Ice climbing axe melee weapon: The only new weapon for this monthly update is the ice climbing axe, and it doesn't sound like you'll be able to use it to do any climbing, sadly.
Battlefield 6 Training Paths are an integral part of your loadout and we'll hopefully be seeing some new ones added with future seasons.
