Game of Thrones leads Emmy awards list with 23 nominations

The nominations for the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards were announced yesterday, and just like last year they were dominated by Game of Thrones. The popular HBO show picked up an epic 23 nominations - just one shy of the record it set in 2015 - and they included Best Drama series, writing, and directing.

Elsewhere, The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story were nipping at Game of Thrones' heels with 22 nods - including Courtney B. Vance and Cuba Gooding, Jr. for lead actor - while The Night Manager scored 12 nominations of its own.
