This year's Black Friday Magic: The Gathering deals are just a week away, so it's time to prepare. OK, I appreciate that the sale isn't known for card game discounts. But Magic can get some excellent price cuts at the end of each November, making 2025's Black Friday MTG deals one to watch.

Avatar: The Last Airbender Jumpstart Booster Box | $99.99 at Miniature Market
Despite not being listed as a deal, this is much cheaper than you're going to find elsewhere. Indeed, the same box set is roughly $20 more expensive at Amazon.

Buy it if:
✅ You're an Avatar fan
✅ You enjoy the Jumpstart format

Don't buy it if:
❌ You aren't a Jumpstart fan

Spider-Man Scene Box | $44.87 $33 at Walmart
Save $12 - The price cut isn't as sensational as the box's contents, but considering how the average cost is between $41 and $43, I'll take it for now. Hopefully this will continue to drop in cost as Black Friday really gets underway.

Buy it if:
✅ You want a display collectible
✅ You're a diehard Spider-Man fan

Don't buy it if:
❌ You'd rather cards to use in games

Save $56 - We have a record low price! This booster box hasn't ever been cheaper than it is now on Amazon according to price-matching software, so it's a fantastic way to kick off the sales season.

Buy it if:
✅ You're a fan of all things dragon
✅ You're looking to make Tarkir decks

Avatar: The Last Airbender Play Booster Box | $144.99 at Miniature Market
Here's a box set that isn't listed as a deal, but is an honorary offer by virtue of being cheaper than any other retailer. I'm seeing the Avatar Booster Box for upwards of $160 at Amazon and Walmart, so a tag of $145 is actually pretty great by comparison. It's actually gone down $5 since I checked it earlier on, too!

Buy it if:
✅ You want the best price on the boosters
✅ You're a huge Avatar fan

Don't buy it if:
❌ You don't want to commit just yet

Final Fantasy Limit Break Commander Deck | $69.99 $56.99 at Amazon
Save $13 - The Cloud-led Commander deck has been pretty difficult to find since launch, never mind at a discount, so over $10 off the price isn't bad going despite it not being a record low.

Buy it if:
✅ You prefer Commander format
✅ You love FF7/Cloud

Don't buy it if:
❌ You're more of a Standard fan

Price check:
💲 Walmart | $69.83

UK price: £68.95 at Magic Madhouse

Spider-Man Play Booster Box | $119.99 at Miniature Market
Seeing as this one is listed at between $135 and $150 via Amazon depending on when you catch it, this listing (which isn't technically down as a 'deal') is far better value than you'll find elsewhere.

Buy it if:
✅ You're all in on MTG Spider-Man
✅ You're making your own decks

Don't buy it if:
❌ You'd prefer a precon

Price check:
💲 Amazon | $144.99

Final Fantasy Play Booster Box | $240 $149 at Walmart
Save $91.31 - That may not be a record low price, but it's a lot better than the $250ish average cost I'm seeing according to price-match software. That makes it a good offer to kick off sales season.

Buy it if:
✅ You want as many cards as possible
✅ You're creating your own decks

Don't buy it if:
❌ You'd rather go for a precon

Price check:
💲 Amazon | $164.94

What to expect from Black Friday Magic: The Gathering deals 2025

Despite being better known for reductions on electrical goods like laptops or TVs, Black Friday savings go far beyond the world of tech. Along with the best board games, the best Lego sets, and D&D books, MTG sets of all kinds are included. That means both new and old expansions will be up for grabs for a fraction of the price.

Here's a better idea of what you can expect.

👑 Commander decks new and old get eyecatching price cuts
MTG's most popular format always enjoys a price cut or two when Black Friday rolls around. Although you're less likely to get big reductions on brand-new, fresh-off-the-press sets, most Commander decks will be a few months old by the time the sales arrive. That means we should be able to expect $10 or more off the sticker price (or beyond, if it's an older release).

🕐 Some of the best offers will be on old sets
While most eyes will be on the many Universes Beyond sets launched in 2025, it's worth checking out older sets as well like Aetherdrift. These commonly enjoy some of the biggest reductions.

⭐ The best savings are on booster boxes
This won't surprise MTG veterans, but the best Black Friday Magic: The Gathering deals tend to be on booster boxes. You can save $40 or more on these booster collections if you're lucky, providing far better value for money than you'd usually find.

Will we get price cuts on newer releases like MTG Spider-Man and Avatar: The Last Airbender? Possibly, but I wouldn't count on them being the best and most appealing discounts. It's far more likely that we'll see big reductions on sets launched in the first half of 2025, which means Aetherdrift and Tarkir and prime candidates for a saving.

When will the Black Friday Magic: The Gathering deals start?

MTG might change sets every couple of months, but Black Friday is more predictable. It occurs after Thanksgiving and on the final Friday of November, which means this year's Black Friday Magic: The Gathering deals are arriving on November 28, 2025.

However, that isn't to say the discounts will be limited to a single day. They start at least a week beforehand and cling on into December!

Where will the best Black Friday Magic: The Gathering deals be?

Finding the 'best' offers will depend on what you're looking for. Although the big retailers will be well worth watching during this year's Black Friday Magic: The Gathering deals, they tend to emphasize bundles, Commander decks, and massive booster boxes from the latest sets. That's why smaller, independent stores are great options to keep up your sleeve - they often provide discounts on individual cards and are competitive in terms of price.

USA
- Amazon: Good for bundles
- Walmart: Surprisingly wide range
- Best Buy: Stocks the latest sets
- Miniature Market: Great for discounts
- Target: Offers MTG merch

UK
- Amazon: Most reliable source
- Magic Madhouse: Great for individual cards
- Zatu: Good source for single booster packs
- Wayland Games: Offers regular discounts
