The best Black Friday PS5 deals are one of the best ways to grab a new Slim or PS5 Pro model and build up your games and accessory collection while saving some cash in the process. The PS5 is now five years old, so there's a ton of physical games, controllers, headsets, SSDs, and more that have regularly seen some hefty savings over the years, and the recent Aussie price hikes have put a bigger importance than ever on grabbing PS5 goodies for a bargain.

This month will mark a whole year since the PS5 Pro launched, and two years since the launch of the PlayStation Portal, so it's highly likely both could be the talk of the town again, where discounts are concerned. No matter what's in store, we're using our years spent in the Black Friday deal mines to detail everything you can expect to dig up during this year's sales, including some of the best early bargains we've unearthed so far.

Where will the best Black Friday gaming deals be?

Almost everyone tries to get in on Black Friday each year, so you can be sure that any retailer you visit will have price cuts of some description. Still, some are better than others. In our experience, these are the stores to prioritize:

Amazon: big variety of deals on consoles, games, toys and more
eBay: Coupons for extra discounts on peripherals and games
Fanatical: Steam keys, bundle game offers and more
Green Man Gaming: Variety of games for PC, Mac and console
HP: Peripherals and gaming laptops direct from HP
JB Hi-Fi: Nintendo, Xbox and PlayStation consoles, games and more
Lego: Find a variety of sets including the Pac-Man Arcade
Lenovo: Find monitors, peripherals and more primed for gaming
Mighty Ape: Find collectables, games and more
Mwave: Controllers, gaming laptops, monitors and more
Razer: Shop Razer peripherals and laptops straight from the source

Early PS5 Black Friday deals

  DualSense Wireless controller
Save AU$34.95
DualSense Wireless controller: was AU$119.95 now AU$85 at Amazon
Read moreRead less

Savings on the PS5 DualSense controller are exceedingly rare nowadays, which is especially annoying since they're very prone to stick drift and trigger button problems. So: stock up! Gone are the days when we can expect to pay as little as AU$79 for a unit during Black Friday, but this AU$85 price is the best we've seen for a while, and is available in a range of colours.

PlayStation DualSense Edge PS5 controller
Save AU$90.95
PlayStation DualSense Edge PS5 controller: was AU$339.95 now AU$249 at Amazon

Sony's brilliant yet exorbitantly priced premium DualSense is a fine piece of kit, and this discount - albeit no record breaker - makes it ever more tempting. It has replaceable analog sticks, four back "paddle" buttons, changeable stick caps and a bunch of other lavish features that you'll regret not having once you've held one of these in hand.

PlayStation Portal
Save AU$19.95
PlayStation Portal: was AU$329.95 now AU$310 at Amazon

Not as good a saving as we saw previously, let's not scoff at this small 6% discount. It's an excellent Remote Play handheld with DualSense functionality, which makes up for the fact that you could otherwise just use a cheaper controller attached to your phone. If you want one, you want one.

  Battlefield 6
Save AU$40.95
Battlefield 6: was AU$109.95 now AU$69 at Amazon

Widely considered a return to form, Battlefield 6 reviewed very well when it launched last month. Now, just weeks later, many major retailers are offering a huge discount on the RRP of AU$109.95. Whether you're keen to jump in on the multiplayer action, or are just curious about the campaign, this is a significant discount for a game that only released recently, even though it was cheaper at AU$59 earlier in the week.

  Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33: was AU$84 now AU$59 at JB Hi-Fi

Arguably this year's greatest RPG gets a big discount ahead of Black Friday proper. For AU$59 this is an absolute steal, and our review bears that out: "an outstanding visionary debut from Sandfall Interactive", Alan Wen wrote. Definitely a good one to have ahead of the summer holidays.

  Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Save AU$50
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2: was AU$99 now AU$49 at JB Hi-Fi

A substantial discount on what could be the best RPG of 2025 (don't read this, Clair Obscur). If you love your RPGs unforgiving and almost-sim-like in their dedication to reality, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is absolutely essential. It's also one of the most gorgeous games on PS5.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
Save AU$30
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater: was AU$109 now AU$79 at JB Hi-Fi

This 2025 remake of the PlayStation 2 classic is pretty obviously essential for Metal Gear fans, but it's also an excellent way to make first contact with Kojima's conspiratorial universe. This is a great price for one of the year's strongest releases.

  Ghost of Yōtei
Save AU$30.95
Ghost of Yōtei: was AU$124.95 now AU$94 at Amazon

This is only borderline a deal: AU$99 is what Amazon is charging as a matter of course for this new PS5 exclusive, undercutting most of the competition by at least AU$10. If you're after another sumptuous open world in the prestige Sony mould, and loved Ghost of Tsushima, this is worth investigation.

  Borderlands 4
Save AU$50.95
Borderlands 4: was AU$119.95 now AU$69 at Amazon

Gearbox's newest open world looter shooter gets a tidy discount in the months after launch, despite Randy Pitchford suggesting it wouldn't happen. If you're after a 50+ hour RPG sprawl that you can play with friends, this is well worth it at this price.

  Monster Hunter Wilds
Save AU$15
Monster Hunter Wilds: was AU$44 now AU$29 at JB Hi-Fi
Read moreRead less

Although the ticket price on this is AU$44 now, it was at least AU$89 upon release back in March, so AU$29 is pretty extraordinarily cheap for a 2025 title. Sure, it's proven divisive, but if you're a fan of the series or have a crew who want to stab a bunch of monsters to death in a pretty open world, it's a good time.

  Mafia The Old Country

Mafia The Old Country: was AU$89.95 now AU$59 at Amazon

If you're after a gorgeous crime drama set in early 20th century Italy, you could do much worse than Mafia The Old Country. This one's also good if you're over the trappings of modern blockbuster open world games: sure, there's a big ol' map, but this one keeps things very story focused.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
Save AU$40
Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon: was AU$69 now AU$29 at JB Hi-Fi

Knowing they're onto a good thing, Bandai Namco rarely offer up steep discounts on FromSoftware games. Which makes this deal on Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon well worth taking note of if you've been hungering for a mech brawler. I adored this game and so did all the critics.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2
Save AU$20
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2: was AU$84 now AU$64 at Amazon

Bloodlines 2 has been divisive, and our review was unambiguously on the negative side. Still, among people who've waited so long for this sequel, there will be a desire to play it anyway, and this is about the best price we've seen for the modern vampire RPG. We called it "a boring, linear action brawler" but maybe you will call it a "masterpiece"? (Doubtful, but let's see.)

PS5 Spider-Man: Miles Morales
Save AU$50.95
PS5 Spider-Man: Miles Morales: was AU$94.95 now AU$44 at Amazon

This standalone expansion for the original Spider-Man was a PS5 launch title, but it still looks brilliant, and at this price is well worth a look. If you're after the Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition—which packs in the whole original Spider-Man game —that's currently going for AU$69, though at the time of writing stock is low.

Astro Bot

Astro Bot: was AU$109.95 now AU$64 at Amazon

A rare discount on this 2024 PS5 gem, which will almost certainly go down in history as one of the platform's best exclusive. It's a big cheerful platformer with an astonishing amount of ideas. If you're a fan of PlayStation history, it's pretty much a must-own, and the same holds true if you love 3D platformers.

  Dead Space (remake)

Dead Space (remake): was AU$49.95 now AU$28 at eBay

A bonanza discount on this highly regarded horror remake, which was met with unanimous praise when it released in 2022 (though presumably not enough sales for EA to quickly issue a Dead Space 2 remake). If you're an eBay Plus member, this game is yours for AU$21.

  Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed
Save AU$70.95
Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed: was AU$99.95 now AU$29 at Amazon

Disney Epic Mickey is a brilliant and innovative platformer with a lot of old school Disney charm, and it's the kind of game that makes an easy Christmas gift for PS5 owners young and old.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Edition

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Edition: was AU$115 now AU$74.56 at Amazon

The price may seem steep at a glance, but this UK import of Elden Ring includes the critically acclaimed Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, which easily adds at least fifteen hours to the base game. And what to say about Elden Ring at this point? It's probably the very best RPG of this console generation, especially if the chatty Baldur's Gate 3 is too, well, chatty for you.

Final Fantasy XVI
Final Fantasy XVI: was AU$89 now AU$39 at JB Hi-Fi

The lowest price yet for this epic ye olde fantasy take on the Final Fantasy formula, which we said " stands alongside the series' greats" in our review. It's a big 60+ hour adventure that is incredible value for money at this price, with some of the most bonkers boss fights this side of Asura's Wrath. Amazon was briefly price matching JB Hi-Fi but sold out; if JB Hi-Fi sells out it's worth checking Amazon for a stock replenishment.

Black Friday PS5 headset deals

Logitech G PRO X 2 Lightspeed Wireless Gaming Headset: was AU$449.95 now AU$268 at Amazon

This offer gets you a respected high-level headset which we praised for its good battery life, decent audience and comfort. In our 72/100 review we criticised its price and "unspectacular" mic, but perhaps those shortcomings are a little easier to bear with this whopping price cut.

Corsair HS80 Max Wireless Gaming Headset

The Corsair HS80 Max Wireless Gaming Headset offers low-latency 2.4Ghz wireless audio and Bluetooth connectivity, along with high-fidelity 24bit/96kHz sound and support for Dolby Atmos Spatial Audio. This was down to AU$150 last Black Friday, so if you're patient, you could possibly wait for a further discount.

What to expect from Black Friday PS5 deals in 2025

PS5 accessories on a table, including two DualSense controllers, a charging station and a headset

There's bound to be plenty of Black Friday PS5 deals in 2025, especially if last year was anything to go by. November 2024 was full of savings on brand-new games, controllers, headsets, PS5 SSDS, and of course - the PS5 itself, which hopefully is a sign of things to come. However, things are off to an awkward start this year. The PS5 price hikes mean that discounts on the console itself (including bundles) won't be as alluring. Sony popped an extra AU$30 on the Slim, so if you're after the console itself, making sure the saving is at least AU$50 or greater is the way to go.

Grabbing one of the best SSD deals is a great alternative if the console discounts turn out to be lackluster. Last year, SSDs from the biggest names in the business, from Samsung, Corsair, and Western Digital all saw their own fair share of savings. There weren't a ton of record lows, but grabbing 2TB worth of storage at a discount will still be cheaper than forking out for a PS5 Pro.

Of course, if we see a repeat of the kind of Black Friday savings we saw last year, expect to see record-low price drops on the latest games. A ton of 2024 releases, like Metaphor: ReFantazio, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, and even Astro Bot saw their best savings so far, so some 2025 games are bound to follow suit. This year, Death Stranding 2: On The Beach, Ghost of Yotei, and Silent Hill f are primed to see big savings.

If you're happy with your PS5 and already have plenty to play, Black Friday 2025 won't be shy about savings on the best PS5 accessories. The jury is still out on whether we'll finally see the Sony DualSense controller see any major discounts, but there's plenty of third-party alternatives, like the Victrix Pro BFG or the Nacon Revolution 5 Pro to watch out for instead.

When will Black Friday PS5 deals begin in Australia?

Black Friday PS5 deals should theoretically land on November 28 - actual Black Friday - but we all know by now that Black Friday is unofficially a month long event, and that now we're in November, good deals could drop at any moment.

Every year Black Friday deals drop earlier and earlier and it'll be wise to pay close attention to those things you have your eye on over the deals weekend.
